Wrong hole spacing, marred up plastic, didnt fit cover
Decided to replace my DF54 chute after the de-ionizer gave out, the part which arrived had the wrong and chunked hole sizing + spacing, didn't fit the existing cover, and had a gouge in the plastic where the tool bit must have slipped when drilling the mounting holes.
Luckily I no longer need a replacement as the grinder has started to shave away the grinding chamber resulting in aluminum in the grinds.
The machine is solidly built with quality parts and engineering, it has features not present on similarly priced machines or even higher priced ones. It performs very well and makes quality espresso, and it’s easy to maintain as well. Overall it’s a very worthwhile purchase.
I was blown away with the quality of the grinder! I have a flair 58 +2 and it pairs very well with it and makes my morning routine so much better. I would hands down recommend this grinder and I think the grind consistency and quantity is amazing!

A Great Addition!
Since arriving two weeks ago, my appreciation of this grinder has grown more every day, as I fully learn how to benefit from all it offers. It’s the perfect size for my compact home coffee bar. Right out of the box, the burrs and indicator were perfectly calibrated to zero. It’s surprisingly quiet, and there’s been virtually no retention. Grinds look great coming out, and my shots have been much more consistent (and photogenic!). Rotating the adjustment ring is a little tough and requires a lot of effort, we’ll see if that gets a little smoother as time goes on. But overall, its a amazing value and step up for my home espresso game.

Evolving my taste in coffee
Being able to grind light roast espresso is a game changer. This grinder unlocks fruit notes that I’ve never been able to taste. Wow! It has very low retention and isn’t super loud. Great product.

Springy
Somehow managed to lose a spring while switching back to SSP HUs, bricking my DF64. Grateful for Turin Grinders for carrying critical parts, support, and upgrades.

It’s ALL in how you use it
This review is for espresso use, as I’m not sure a coarser grind would create the same issue. This thing grinds very efficiently, but delivers said grinds in an imperfect fashion via a small spout. If you are grinding for espresso, please note that you will need to help the machine guide the grinds into your little cup using that top pump, multiple times per serving in order to reduce clumping up and eventual machine stoppage. I grind for single use, so usually about 18g at a time, and for this I spray the beans once and slowly feed the grinder after letting it spin free a few seconds on setting 28. For every twenty beans that go into it, about eighteen’s worth of ground coffee spits out with no help from me. Not bad but if you ignore it and keep feeding without pumping some air through, that two extra grams adds up and eventually stops the grinder in its tracks, leaving you wondering if it’s a faulty product. It isn’t. It just needs constant guidance in order to run efficiently and give you seriously good results, so please be more patient than I was and enjoy! Just remember to pump that sucker like you’re doing CPR and you’ll never fail.
