Little less than a month and have used it everyday, works great, consistent grinds, makes it easy to accurately dial in beans
It’s really easy to use, very intuitive and very fast. It’s not very loud and does the work really well. Really really happy with my purchase.
We purchased the DF54 as an upgrade to our built-in grinder. The grinding is much more consistent and we have much more precision in finding the right grind for each coffee. We are expecting a delivery of a new espresso machine and can't wait to see how the pair work together. We do find that the grinder clogs with dark and oily beans, even when slowly adding beans during grinding, and there is quite a bit of spraying of grounds. We have replaced the dosing cup with a metal one and are using an RDT spray which have made things better. But otherwise, we are very happy with the DF54.
I've only had the DF54 v3 for a couple weeks and it has clogged on me 3 times. I have to take it apart and clean it each time. I wouldn't recommend this product, it's a pain in the ass.
This grinder has a lot to like, but these are not tested before shipping.
Way too many units ship with unaligned burrs that contribute to an unusable degree of variation between identical grinds. You will likely need to test and align your burrs in order to get it in a usable condition. Even with the burr’s alignment corrected, the grind size varies wildly, especially if you try slow feeding, which was possible in the previous version that came with a different type of internal spring for the burr system.
The anti-static system is not effective. If it gets clogged, it can lead to a piece of plastic coming in contact with the rotating burr assembly. Makes a lot of noise and is at risk if getting plastic caught in a a machine spinning at 1600 rpm
No $700 new grinder should require so much work out of the box.
