The Turin Legato V2 brings adjustable espresso settings to a compact machine with a familiar 58mm portafilter. A stainless-steel brew boiler handles espresso while a separate thermoblock produces steam for milk drinks. This arrangement makes it a useful step up for someone who wants to learn temperature, pre-infusion and pressure adjustment without moving to a full-size E61 machine.
The 550ml brew boiler supplies water for extraction, and the steam thermoblock serves a different job. This is not a conventional dual-boiler machine. The separate heating systems reduce the need to switch one boiler between brewing and steaming temperatures. Allow time for the portafilter and group to warm as well as the water; the published heat-up estimate of about five minutes is a starting point, not a guarantee that every metal part is fully heat-soaked.
The V2 configuration includes adjustable pre-infusion timing and delay, brew-flow adjustment and an adjustable over-pressure valve. The OPV is set to a nominal nine-bar setting. Treat adjustments as controlled experiments: begin with the standard setup, establish a repeatable recipe and change one variable at a time. The gauge helps you observe the extraction; the grind, dose and puck resistance influence what happens during the shot.
The digital controls let you adjust the brew and steam systems. A temperature setting is a useful repeatable reference, but it is not a direct measurement of the temperature inside the coffee puck. Start with a consistent dose and beverage yield, then change temperature only when you have a reason to investigate the flavor. Flow-control adjustments are made through the machine’s adjustment screw rather than an E61-style profiling paddle.
Use the steam wand to texture milk in a separate pitcher, purge it as directed and wipe it promptly after use. The removable 1.7-liter reservoir allows a tank-based installation without plumbing. Keep the water supply adequate and follow the priming instructions when setting up or restarting after the system has run dry. The videos below include dedicated priming and troubleshooting demonstrations.
An espresso-capable grinder, a scale and a properly fitting tamper make the machine easier to use consistently. The current Legato package no longer includes a tamper. A 58mm basket format offers many accessory options, but verify the fit of replacement portafilters and baskets rather than assuming every part with that nominal diameter is interchangeable.

MC3 offers a larger steam boiler and touchscreen-controlled flow settings. Gallatin V uses an E61 heat-exchanger layout with a traditional lever-operated group.
It uses a brew boiler and a separate steam thermoblock. For two separate boilers, compare the Gallatin DB.
No. A tamper is no longer included in the current package. Choose one that fits the supplied basket.
This listing uses a removable water reservoir. For an expressly plumbable model, compare the Gallatin range or MC3.

For a beginner in home espresso crafting, I feel that we made a great decision choosing this model. Most of the important adjustments that are needed to make great espresso can be done with this machine. I love this grinder! It is fast, is easy to adjust the grind, and the bellows clear out the burns. It also looks great on my counter. I did watch a lot of videos because this is my first real grinder, but it is pretty intuitive. Highly recommend.
Simple to use and works smoothly and effortlessly.
The H40 V2 hand grinder is fantastic. It is extremely well built and very precise. It punches well above its weight at the current price. It performed perfectly and help me dial in the grind on several different beans for my espresso machine. I do not use it every day, as I have a 64mm flat burr grinder as well. It is great for full bodied medium-dark roasts. Even when I am not using it to grind, the bottom piece functions perfect as a blind shaker. I grind directly into it, then place it on top of portafilter and distribute. It is very multipurpose! It would be awesome it they sold a magnetic lid for the bottom piece so it could be a true blind shaker.
Solid, faster, and beautiful. Great cost-benefit option!
After 3 years of daily 1st Gen DF83 use… A user abuse left me in need of a replacement espresso grinder.
The DF83v was ultimately what I committed to purchasing.
Every step of my daily coffee is improved.
I can't tell you how much this grinder is incredible! It is so much quieter than the previous grinders that I have had. The weight of it feels so sturdy, it's going nowhere. All and all, this is a high quality top of the line own grinders that anybody can invest in!
Thank you for the great grinder! The DF54 arrived in perfect condition and plugged right into our 220V setup with no issues. The grind is very uniform, there's almost no static, and for a single-dose espresso grinder at this price, it's an absolute gem. Special thanks to the seller for fast shipping and secure packaging!
Absolutely the best support, before and after the sale! Whether it’s answering questions to help decide a purchase or address concerns once in use in your home, they are quick to respond, eager to assist, professional and friendly. Joe and his crew are the very best!
