Reservoir Only Espresso Machines
Find the machine for your everyday espresso ritual.
Choosing your equipment
A reservoir-only espresso machine uses water you add to its tank, making it practical for a coffee station without a permanent water line. Explore the Turin Legato V2 and plan a compact setup around tank access, grinding and your daily drink routine.
A Coffee Bar Without Plumbing
Reservoir and tank refer to the same water-supply approach here. You refill the machine yourself instead of connecting an incoming water line. This offers placement flexibility in a kitchen, apartment or office, while keeping refilling and drip-tray emptying part of the routine.
Think beyond the counter footprint. You need access to fill or remove the tank and enough space around the portafilter, steam wand and tray. Check clearance under cabinets before deciding where the machine will live.
Legato V2’s Heating and Controls
The Legato V2 combines a 550ml stainless-steel brew boiler with a separate steam thermoblock. PID settings and adjustable pre-infusion let you refine an espresso routine, while the removable 1.7L reservoir supplies the machine.
This is not a conventional dual-boiler design and the listing is not intended for direct-water connection. If your priority is two separate boilers or permanent plumbing, compare the other Turin categories instead of treating those capabilities as upgrades implied by the Legato name.
Build a Consistent Espresso Setup
Use a suitable espresso grinder to make small grind corrections and a scale to measure dose and beverage yield. The Legato uses a 58mm portafilter, but accessory fit still depends on the particular basket and attachment design. Review the included-items list; the current package does not include a tamper, grinder, milk pitcher or scale.
A compact machine can be a capable learning platform when you keep the recipe repeatable. Change one variable at a time and evaluate taste alongside shot time.
Water Care and Other Options
Follow the machine’s guidance for water quality, cleaning and maintenance. A refillable tank does not eliminate mineral buildup or the need for regular care. Use the product’s instructions rather than assuming any bottled or filtered water is automatically suitable.
If you want the option to connect to a water line, explore reservoir or direct-plumb machines. Gallatin and MC3 models use different heating systems and controls, so compare those attributes as well as water supply.
Can Legato V2 be connected directly to a water line?
The current listing specifies reservoir operation. Choose a model explicitly supporting direct connection if that is part of your planned installation.
Does reservoir-only mean single boiler?
No. Water supply and heating architecture are separate features. Legato V2 uses a brew boiler and separate steam thermoblock while drawing water from a tank.
What should I measure before buying?
Check body dimensions, space for the portafilter and cup, steam-wand movement and access to refill or remove the water tank. Leave room for a grinder and daily cleaning too.
