Coffee Scales

Parts, burrs, and accessories for your coffee setup.

Choosing your equipment

A coffee scale helps you repeat the drinks you enjoy by measuring beans, brewing water and beverage output. Compare the Turin Mini Espresso Scale and Pour Over Scale around your brewer, working space and preferred recipe.

Choose Around the Brewing Space

An espresso scale needs to fit the drip tray with your cup in place and leave enough clearance below the portafilter. A pour-over setup needs a stable platform for the brewer or server and the total water used in the recipe. The largest platform is not necessarily the easiest fit beneath an espresso machine.

Measure the usable space and check the scale’s dimensions before ordering. Include cup height, tray shape and access to the display and buttons. A scale that fits the counter may still be awkward inside a machine’s working area.

Compare Turin’s Two Approaches

The Turin Mini Espresso Scale is intended for an espresso-focused setup where space beneath the cup matters. The Turin Pour Over Scale has a broader brewing platform and an integrated brew-ratio calculator. That calculator can help translate the amount of coffee into a target water quantity for a repeatable recipe.

Read each product’s controls, capacity, resolution and dimensions. Display resolution and measurement accuracy are not identical concepts, so avoid interpreting a small displayed increment as a guarantee under every operating condition.

Use Weight to Make Better Comparisons

For espresso, weigh the dry coffee dose and the liquid beverage yield. Keeping those consistent makes grind changes easier to interpret. For pour-over, record coffee weight and total brewing water, then adjust grind, pouring and timing deliberately. Weight-based measurements help avoid the variation introduced by scoops and cup volume markings.

A scale also helps you compare bean input with the grounds collected from a single-dose grinder. A timer or automatic stop on the grinder does not replace this measurement.

Care, Charging and Everyday Use

Place the scale on a level, stable surface and tare with the empty cup or brewing vessel as appropriate. Keep spills away from charging connections and follow the product’s cleaning and charging guidance. Do not assume a coffee scale is waterproof or dishwasher safe unless its specifications explicitly say so.

Review the supplied cable and recommended adapter requirements. Pair the scale with your chosen grinder and espresso machine as part of a consistent coffee station.

Should I weigh espresso by volume or by grams?

A scale measures beverage mass without relying on crema volume. Use grams to make your recipe easier to repeat, while also judging flavor and extraction.

Can one scale serve espresso and pour-over?

Possibly, if its size, capacity and controls suit both setups. Check drip-tray clearance for espresso and the total load of the brewer, server and water for pour-over.

Does the ratio calculator replace dialing in?

No. It helps calculate quantities. Grind size, coffee, water and the brewing technique still need to be adjusted for the result you prefer.
