WOW
I am coming from a 20 year a career in home espresso. I started with the most basic screw top style reservoir machines that build pressure in the reservoir. For the past 9 years I’ve been on a BBE. I went down the rabbit hole of machines. Wanted to stay under 2k but also really wanted a rotary pump and a dual boiler. Knowing that was likely impossible for something knew I almost settled on something that didn’t really fill my wants. What I really wanted as an end game was a Rocket RXX but that was WAY out of my current budget. I searched and searched and finally saw in a google ad a Turnin Gallatin V HX, of which I immediately almost pulled the trigger for the price. I thin saw they had an HX rotary pump version for a very very unbeatable steal of a price. I immediately purchased it. I would have gotten the vial boiler but I also needed a grinder and accessories.
In the last 3 weeks I have been THOROUGHLY enjoying this machine. I have it fully plumbed, I cannot stress enough how AWESOME that is. After a cooling flush this thing is at perfect brew temp. It heats up in about 25-30 minutes fully. The steam power is amazing, the paddles are tactile and extremely fun to actuate and use. The walnut is beautiful against the high polish stainless steel body. This thing is build like a brick house. With the simplicity of the single boiler and the e61 group, this should last me at least 10 years. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

So… this is a really good grinder. And a very good price for a flat burr machine. It does require two hands and some effort to adjust the grind. It’s very easy to clean and has very minimal retention.
Two quibbles: 1) the lack of a manual but luckily… there are tons of how-to videos on YouTube. 2) the website says there is a 30 day return window … but you are on the hook for shipping cost and it looks like initial shipping cost to the company will be deducted from any refund you might receive.
The team over at Espresso Outlet was fantastic and I love my new grinder. I can now make my espresso in exactly the way I want! I'll definitely be coming back to the team over at Espresso Outlet when I'm on the lookout for more coffee equipment.
